The E.5 MK2 is the culmination of the long and successful history of Snell's E-Series speakers, which included the Original E, the EII, EIII, EIV, E.5 and finally the E.5 MK2. The E.5 MK2 is a quasi three way design that uses two 6.5" drivers (one as mid/upper bass driver, one as a woofer). There is a rear-firing tweeter which can be defeated, there is a switch to tune the bass for the speakers proximity to the wall behind and there is a level switch for the front tweeter. In true Snell fashion the E.5 MK2 is a superb all-around speaker. They image exceptionally well, present good depth of stage, are very smooth on top, liquid in the middle and the bass has surprising depth, speed and articulation. The cabinets (42.5" tall, 8.5" wide, 11.75" deep, 52 pounds each) are finished in book-matched cherry veneer and are just about perfect from the front and have a just couple of minor scratches on the sides which can't be seen from 3-feet away. They look great and were purchased new in 2002. Pick-up only. Cash preferred. Will consider full/partial trades of quality fly fishing tackle. I am also looking for a decent, low-end turntable ($100 or so). Note: The camera flash made finish of speaker's front and top look different. Please ignore. They are the same and look like the front.
