The HF-12 is one beautiful sounding amp. It is basically half of the HF-81 stereo amp that was reviewed so favorably by Peter Breuninger in Stereophile (http://www.stereophile.com/integratedamps/606eico/). That's the article that made me want to seek out the HF-12.These amps were recently serviced by Mike Zuccaro in San Diego (http://www.audiocraftsman.com/) and are in great working condition except for 1 volume control which is scratchy--a little Deoxit should take care of that. Comes with all tubes. New tubes include: Sovtek 12AX7LPS (6) and JJ EL84 (4). OS tubes include: Amperex EZ81/6CA4 rectifiers (2). I have the original 12AX7s (3 Mullards; 2 GE; 1 Sylvania) and EL84s (2 Mullard; 1 Sylvania; 1 Toshiba) that came with the amp when I bought it—you are welcome to them—but I cannot vouch for their performance as I have not tested them. Both amps include: new Cardas speaker binding posts; new RCA jacks for Tape Out, Aux and Tuner (so current RCA cables will work fine). Any resistors out of spec were replaced as were many of the capacitors which include a mixture of Sprague Atoms, Jensen copper foil paper in oil, and BlackGates. Faceplates could use some polishing. Both chassis are in pretty good shape. One knob (Selector) is cracked in the center; otherwise the knobs are in decent shape. I also have both topcovers (not shown). I like the sound of these amps very much, but I just have too many amps and need to get rid of some.
