One of two SP-15s I bought as part of a former DJ setup (SP-15s, padded flight cases, tonearms/cartridges). I am keeping the other as my new table (I’m building a plinth for it) and I don’t see myself as a multiple table person…both tables are virtually identical cosmetically and operationally.
Overall, this table is in very good condition. The platter has a few very small nicks on the edge (where the platter goes from vertical to horizontal) and there is a small rub mark to the right of the display. I cannot detect any wobble or play in the platter bearing. The small circles on the platter are glow-in-the-dark stickers, presumably put there by the previous owner. I haven't removed them, but it appears that they come off easily.
The display is fully functional, all the speed button lights work, and the table is stable at all 3 speeds. It starts and stops quickly, the brake engages and disengages as it should. When I first examined the tables, one of the on/off switches would occasionally not engage properly (when starting, the table would initially start then stop...when stopping, it would slow down then resume turning); pressing the switch once or twice more just right would make it work correctly. Since that first day (two months ago), I cannot get either switch to replicate this behavior. It could have been dodgy from non-use (the previous owner did say he hadn't used them in awhile).On the negative side, the “pitch minus” button does not work – when you press it, the display and speed do not change. The “reset” and “pitch plus” buttons do work. I have some feedback on Audiogon (username ‘gregk27’) and more on eBay (same username). This table will be well packed (but not in the flight case shown in the pictures, it’s not included). Asking $225, including shipping obo.
