I'm selling my Magnavox 93xx series console amp. This unit is fully converted to stand alone use, nothing needs to be done, totally stable in operation. It's a 6BQ5 PP design and puts out about 12w. and sounds awesome. I'm only selling because it's not getting used enough. It has been fully re-capped including the P.S., the quad can was still functioning w/ no motorboating but I put in modern Nichicon's to raise the capacitnce a little and as a pre-emptive measure. It has also had all the resistors replaced. Took out the drifty carbon-comps and put in RS carbon films. Also has had the 390ohm resistor mod for the preamp balance. And there is a little known mod whereby I took the extra filament taps for the unused preamp section and put that in series with the primary tap. The effect is that it drops the modern primary voltage down really close to the original 117v it was designed for in the 60's. This makes the amp very stable, the transformer barely gets warm and all the voltages are within spec with the stock resistor values. Quite a neat little trick I picked up from the Yahoo Magnavox users group. As you can see from the pictures it has an IEC inlet for the power, Dayton gold plated RCA's and 5 way binding posts. Included is a pair of tested good Magnavox branded 6EU7's, a practically new EH 5U4GB, and a quad of low hour JJ EL84's. Comes on adjustable Dayton cones and I will include the Oak slab if desired. Please feel free to ask questions. And yes the pilot lamp is drilled into the face of the wood base and does work. EDIT- Open to possible trades, particularly Sennheiser HD600 headphones.
