For sale is a Technics SL1200MK2 turntable with add-ons. I purchased the table new in July of 2010 from KAB. I also purchased the table with the following additions from KAB: 1) tonearm fluid damper 2) Outboard power supply 3) Threaded record clamp 4) Strobe disabler 5) External RCA Cardas connectors added 6) Cardas tonearm rewire. The total cost of the table new was $1266.I am also selling the table with the following additions which I purchased after the purchase 1) Applied Fidelity Generation 2 improved turntable bearing ($325) This bearing has 1/10th the friction and eliminates the deficiencies of the stock bearing design. You will hear clearer detail, better vocals, superior percussion, deeper bass, improved sound stage, enhanced dynamics and quieter backgrounds 2) Herbie's Audio Lab set of four Isoballs. Herbie's IsoBall ($108)is formulated just slightly softer than their standard grungebuster balls to achieve maximum turntable isolation performance and ultimate compatibility with parameters unique to stereo turntables. Mounted on a non-magnetic stainless steel base, a layer of Herbie's compliant Soft Fat material on the bottom helps absorb macro/footfall vibrations while remaining super-sensitive to acute micro-vibrations 3) One Herbie's Audio Lab HAL-O JR. titanium damping instrument ($13). HAL-O JR damps virtually any vibrational frequency that is present on the tonearm. 50Hz-60Hz frequencies from motor hum are common and these vibrations are usually tamed very well. Tonearm tube resonances are usually reduced below any audible level. Higher frequency micro-vibrations that cause glare and other problems are also tamed. The tonearm does have a couple of visible scratches from putting on the titanium Hal-O Jr onto the tonearm. For me the benefits in the improvement of the sound from the Hal-O Jr was worth the diminished cosmetics. 4) You will receive three separate headshells: the standard Technics with wire that came with the table; a Stranton headshell without wire ; and an improved Sumiko HS-12 headshell with DH Labs wire ($110) 5) Best Tractor alignment tool ($110)specifically for the Technics SL 1200 turntable The total value of these additional products is $590 making the total value of this package $1931.
