Matsushita 5AR4 new. Purchased as part of a bulk pack in egg crate packing, so tubes have been repacked into individual boxes. These are the Japanese tubes made with the old Mullard tooling so they look pretty identical to a Mullard except for the cross hatching on the top of the glass. They are just as robust as the Mullards. These haven't been manufactured since the late 80's, IIRC They do not sound identical to the Mullards, however, sounding a bit brighter, and, to my ears, more detailed, particularly on the upper frequencies. They sound more akin to a GE 5AR4. Still, unlike modern Commie tubes, they are quite robust. In older Quicksilver amps where the inital cap is 320 uF, they last.
