Hi fellow music lovers,As I'm going through the process on re-thinking my system on a whole, and seriously coming to the conclusion that I'm seriously enjoying the hell out of this little British made EL84 based tube integrated so much - I've considered selling off my once beloved/cherished Naim Nait 2. It was serviced in November of 2011, and includes a MM phono-stage along with the NANA approved Tibia Power Cord. As it has been my habit of late to hoard several given types of amps at one time - as I once did with Mini-Monitors ( owning as many as 5-6 at one time ), I now own this amp along with three different types of tube integrated's that I'd normally just rotate through depending upon mood and/or season - as summer months in Michigan can be a tad to warm to be running tubes - even with AC on. But, I've also come to the realization - that I can't continue holding onto things just for the sake of nostalgia - so I'm willing to cut my loses and try my hardest to enjoy just the one amp - as I've gone through the trouble of voicing my entire system around it in regards to the cabling loom - isolation devices/platforms and came to the point where I'm very pleased with the end results. So much so - that I'm at that point where things have to make way for tubes to feed it with - hence my ad. I can assure you this amp is in NM/Mint condition as they come - as I'm somewhat anal retentive about said matters - so you wouldn't see a dent - dinged corner - mixed matched paint touch ups - missing screws - banged up connectors - I mean very very very clean. This amp replaced a Sonneteer Campion ( $2.000 ) Integrated Amp, as to my ears it merely sounded better, and even if some are finding much to praise about the current Rega Brio-R ( $895 ), I've done a side by side shoot out - and I'm sorry to say it....., but the Nait 2 showed it a clear pair of heels as it kicked it out of the room/system. This has been/is one of the most musical integrated throughout history in regards to solid state amps - it surprisingly drive more difficult loads then it has any right to do - and on vinyl......., it's one of the best sounding units you're ever to encounter. These normally fletch between $850 - $939 easily on eBay and most of them aren't reserviced/re-capped which means it's like buying a brand new amp while adding another 10 - 20 years to its life. Just something to think about - after all how many solid state amps can you name ( pun intended ) that can be bought back to life after that many years?. And being a music lover whom actually places an emphasis upon music first and followed by ownership of nice gear as a means to the end and not the other way around - I tend to select components based upon said mindset. But regretfully - I can't afford to just keep things that aren't being used.
