We are selling this pair of VSM-MMi speakers from/for our friends at JPS Labs. This is a older pair of Studio Black VSM's (since replaced @ JPS by a new pair of VSMs and these have been idle for a couple years because of that). They where last updated by Merlin (and then JPS who re-wired them with their wire) around 5 years ago to bring them MMi version level (electrically). They (and other speakers) where used by JPS labs for several years in one of their systems for design/test of cables and other general duties (i.e these are not high hour use "shop" speakers). They are in very-good to excellent condition with factory packaging, Merlin Super-BAM, JPS Bi-wire jumpers, RC Networks, Speaker grills (mint), Z-feet (which look to have never been used), and current Super BAM & Speakers custom wired (internally) with JPS Labs own proprietary (and best) Aluminoy wire. They are in 100% proper working order.These are pretty much equivalent to Merlin VSM-MMi's from 3 to 4 years ago (about a $8,000/pr speaker system when new) though not with the current (internal) cabinet construction (newer enclosures look exactly the same as these from the outside, but internally have a longer front baffle board , & different MDF material). Sound wise, these are somewhat similar to the current VSM-MMM speaker in general character. Price is a very fair and reasonable $2,750. Can ship/freight these anywhere (you pay for freight of course) and of course we can bring these to Merlin to have them do whatever update/upgrades you want to pay to do (of which there are several options) should you wish to go that route. I have had Bobby P @ Merlin unpack and test out the speakers to make sure they are working properly as well as evaluate/verify their condition. We can arrange for Merlin to perform a number of upgrades to these if you wish at extra cost. Example: For well under $1,000 the speakers AND Super BAM can be updated to current VSM-MMM level (i.e. this consists of basically taking apart both the BAM and each speaker [removing drivers and crossovers] and completely re-wiring with new Cardas Clear geometry wiring). NOTE: Please don't call JPS Labs directly about these - they have asked me to sell these for them and take care of all the usual inquiries and questions that go along with that.
