The M1 CDT offers sound that, in my opinion, is clearly competitive at double its price point and beyond. As stated earlier, on the surface, a Redbook CD-only transport may be a tough sell as a concept, but in practical use, it is very much the real deal. The CDT allows you to match it to the DAC of your choice, and is engineered to do one task: retrieve the data from the bits on the CD. OPERATING HISTORY (PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING): The previous owner had previously put this unit up for sale with a CD jammed inside. After receiving many questions about cost of repair, The previous owner ontacted Tempo High Fidelity (distributor for MF in the US) to get an estimate. The guys there were nice enough to repair it for free and didn't even charge me for shipping! However, there is NO warranty on the repair. It has a few small scratches but nothing significant. But due to the fact that it has been repaired, I wasn't sure how to rate its condition. So I gave it a 6/10. In any case, my asking price reflects its history. When the previous owner was on the phone with the guy at Tempo trying to get the stuck CD out, he gave me him a few tips on operating this unit. Apparently, this transport is very sensitive. First, always press STOP before ejecting a CD. Second, never interfere while a CD is ejecting. Don't press any other buttons or touch the CD until it is finished ejecting completely. If a CD does get stuck, try turning it OFF and unplugging it for a few seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it ON. The CD should eject automatically.
