VERY NICE Kenwood KA-4002 integrated amp. Very warm sounding amp after total recap and tuning up. I am amazed at the way these older amps sound and could be mistaken for a tube amp. Sounds much better than other NAD, Marantz and Sansui amps I have worked on. Speaker connectors were updated and both the filter capacitor and the 2 main (Left & Right) capacitors were replaced with much more musical caps (Nichicon Gold-Tune KG series). Lots of punch now in the bass section and VERY accurate highs.
Electrolytic capacitors in the signal path upgraded to Elna "Silmic II" audio-grade capacitors and Nichicon KZ premium grade acoustic series. Power supply and most other small electrolytics replaced with Nichicon FG and KG capacitors. Most of the film caps in the under 1uf range replaced with "Orange Drops". Original 2200µf 50V filter cap replaced with new Nichicon KG "Gold Tune" 4700uf 50v. ALL original bulbs replaced. All rotary and push-button switches cleaned with DeOxit G5 Gold. All potentiometers flushed twice with DeOxit FaderLube. Chassis metal cleaned and protectant applied. PS and audio signal path circuit boards carefully cleaned, inspected and any suspect solder connections reflowed. DC offset zeroed and idle current set to factory specs (after one-hour warm-up/stabilization period). Ran for a week with no heat build up or any loss of signal or distortion. Runs cool all day.Shipping cost from Maryland 21030 Please add 2% for Paypal fees.
