The Tuneblocks are solid carbon circular bases with carbide bearings. The first set I bought had steel bearings but I upgraded to the carbide ones. Boston made the carbides standard when I bought the second set. the bases are 2" in diameter and 1" high. Downsized my system and don't need them anymore. They will make a difference, mostly a sense of "quietness".
