For sale is a classic Belles 200 Stereo Power Amplifier in great condition cosmetically and functionally. This amp is design by the renowned designer David Belles and likely built by the man himself in the USA.For those unfamiliar with Belles Research it was the first startup by Dave Belles. He then went on to work with OCM (Magnum Research) and now designs his own brand at Power Modules. Current website: www.powermodules.com Dave Belles has been designing and building amplifiers in Rochester, NY since 1978. His first amp, the Belles A, was a solid state class A design. The Belles 150 amplifier of the late 80s was named one of the 10-best used high-end audio components in The Absolute Sound magazine in the early 1990s for good reason. The 150 was a classic moderate cost (list $795) 75w/ch amplifier. The Belles 200 for sale here, is a larger version of the 150 at 100w/ch. Nice powerful amp with mahogany wood veneer side panels. High power, high current design with peak current of over 85 amps per channel. 100 watts continuous into 8 ohms, max power before clipping is 160 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 260 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Highest quality parts used throughout. The 200 uses 8 Motorola MJ15003 Transistors per side with van den Hul mono-crystal wiring. Nice condition, works perfectly.
