Hi All,Last listing as once again having gone through several hidden boxes in our storage room ( second bedroom ) earlier today in which my wonderful wife Michelle found | bought out to the living room for me, it appears as usual I’ve collected items more than twice | of which I’ve to believe there are times where I merely do this knowing what said brands or items are, of which I felt at some point might be shared with friends | family members | associates whom might be into music, as it stands we only have our youngest son whom has proudly invested over $10.000 in his audio system, whereas his older siblings seemingly are content with boom boxes. Anywho…, as I’m not one for hoarding anything other than music | tubes | isolation devices, and as I’ve voiced my system recently with a wonderfully balanced tandem of cables | cords top to bottom ( source - amplification - speakers that should read ) I find myself in a place where I honesty can’t see changing a single component, nor cable ( as I currently have 4 pairs of silver or silver plated copper ) standard RCA IC’s | 3 pairs of XLR types | 6 pairs of SCs, as well as recently found I’ve two extra cords not being in use…., hence my offer for either of the two models ( versions ) I’ve listed. This version is an 8 core | 12AWG affair, which offers better top end extension | clarity as opposed to the Odin Gold version, I’d say it better suits a system which resides closer to the warmer to neutral side of the audio spectrum | as I’d tend to believe like the real NordOst from my years of listening to them locally since 2000, I believe primarily are much much better suited to SET based systems, as a means of adding snap | top end detailing much as many used tube brands like Telefunken | Tung-Sol | Raytheon with tube gear produced between 1954-62, which are often referred to as having an old school classic tube sound, take what you’ll from that….., yet it’s often felt that one uses harder ( livelier ) sounding tubes or cables to enhance overly rich systems, and more rounder | laidback tubes and cabling ( think earlier AudioQuest | MIT | Transparent Audio cables | Mullard and Brimar based tubes, it’ll become clear why I use these as examples) to tone down slightly bright system and make them collectively more enjoyable. All that to say “ no one cable | nor brand of tube fits all “, and those that believe otherwise?, my words should be taken as pure speculation | nothing more. Anywho here’s another effort to find a nice home for either of these cords to reside, I’d highly recommend using them on either a dedicated music server or DAC to understand what either is truly capable of?, but would ask that you get beyond the don’t buy Chinese shit, because you’ll never know what’s possible otherwise?, and truth be told “ what shit really isn’t being produced in China these days?” I mean cellphones | tvs | lightbulbs you name it. The only thing Chinese I personally don’t buy into, and never will are their vacuum tubes. It seems my long-winged ass got sidetracked there ( what’s new right? ) but once again, I’m merely looking to share, yet am not pressed so if nothing else, will sit on them and just gift one of our rare visitors with them for free, as I’ve always believed sharing is caring. My audio journey in truth as stated a few months ago, has in fact reached a point in life where I don’t give a rats ass about tomorrow or next weeks, next months, next years newly designed anything, I’ll leave that to those that don’t understand what synergy is?, and continue buying components blind, based upon someone’s else’s rating system, where said positive press is sometimes, but not always based upon advertising dollars. At the very least visit a reputable audio dealer, that knows which pieces play well together?, matching shit seriously isn’t as hard as we make it, and there are times where say a well matched | balanced $3.700 can be even more involving musically speaking than $40.000-$85.000 systems built upon said crap ass rating system, where all the components themselves are doing are trying to show on another up…, food for thought in my final chapter with learning and then re-learning how to listen to music, not the equipment. See you all on the flip side | peace.
