Asking $1050 / or best offer. Ground shipping included to Continental USA.This is clone amplifier I built based on the Nelson Pass First Watt Aleph J, but using modified output transistors. It uses one IRFP150 and one unobtanium Semisouth SJEP120R100 power Jfet as output and CCS devices. This modification had input by and was somewhat approved by Nelson Pass. I have linked a discussion thread about the development. I have built a number of the First Watt amps. This is basically a hybrid between the Aleph J and the Aleph J2. The sound is accurate, robust, broad spectrum, yet sweet like a triode tube amp. It has predominant second harmonic distortion like a tube amplifier, but all the good attributes of a Class A solid state amp. Power output is 25 watts into 8 ohms, 13 watts into 4 ohms. It has single ended and balanced inputs. The xlr must have jumpers placed as shown when using the rca jacks. The Cardas CGSP plugs will be supplied with the amp. The power supply is very robust and very quiet. Schottky diodes used for rectification and 60,000 uf of capacitance per rail. The output transistor is biased to 1.7 amps per channel, but with the large Hi-fi 2000 4U x 400mm chassis, it gets about 30 degrees C warmer than the room it is in. It has a single blue LED on the 10mm black aluminum front panel for on status. The amp weighs about 45 pounds and is about 18 x 18 x 7 inches. No power cord is supplied. It is in very good shape, but is rated 7/10 due to the DIY nature of the amp. It is holding bias without need for adjustment, and has about 150 total hours on it. I would suggest that the buyer has the capability to use a multimeter and is comfortable working around power supplies, to occasionally check the bias. Instructions (basic) will be included on how to do so. I pack carefully, and the amp will ship UPS ground insured. I will ship only to the Continental USA.
