I purchased this a few years back from one of my buddies who is an electrical engineer and a fellow Magnepan owner.He upgraded this with the Musical Concepts PS-200 power supply and capacitors and upgraded the wiring while he was in there. I can't say how it performs compared to a stock unit but it hasn't run out of steam and sounds pretty darned good. It really does well with a brighter sounding preamp (it's hooked up to my Sonic Frontiers SFL-2 and it's a good combination with my Magnepan 1.7s). Included is the Musical Concepts PS-200 download just in case you should ever need it. The only thing I've done to it is to replace the power switch which I'm told is the Hafler's weak point. I was advised to run it into a power strip or conditioner and use the switch on that which is what I'm doing. It comes with the optional faceplate and rack handles and the greasy marks on it and the amp are from WD40 - it could use a good cleaning. There are some scratches in the really thick paint on the top of the amp so if you're really particular it would need to be sanded down and then shot with flat black paint. I'm not that particular. The only reason I'm selling is because my old monster VTL monoblocks are being sold back to me. I'd say that the Hafler gives around 85% of the sound quality of my VTLs at 10% of the price with no bank of tubes to replace! Amp will be double boxed and it will go FedEx Ground or USPS, whichever is the least expensive or what the buyer specifies. Buyer pays actual shipping charges. There are no issues with this amplifier. In the photos there are some aluminum/felt risers under the amplifier, they are not included in the sale. Amplifier may be returned within 3 days if it's not as advertised.
