Luxman M-02 Duo Beta-circuit/S
I bought this amp from a collector who had more than 8 of them and he enjoyed restoring them and put that something extra into his work because he used M-02's in his own system.
Along with extensive restoration the bulbs were changed to LED's and the connectors on rear panel were changed. Amp is an 8/10 with no marks even on the top edge of the face. Great sounding amp with tight and extended bass and tonally accurate mid range. Rated 7/10 for age only according to Agon rating system. Buyer to pay ACTUAL cost of shipping and I pack obsessively. See my feedback on Audiogon site with same user name as here. Comes with manual on cd..

http://www.thevintageknob.org/luxman-M-02.html Update from restorer after sending him pics : It does appear that 95% of all of the capacitors were changed as is common when I work on these. The yellow capacitors on the back side of the main PCB are polypropylene film capacitors that I used to replace big orange gumdrop capacitors originally on the face of the PCB (C102, C115).
The very large blue capacitors (2) are the electrolytic smoothing capacitors in the power supply (C601 and C602)and I always replace those, as they generally degrade over time. The value of those was also upgraded from 15000uf to 22000uf each.
I can also see that I changed the bias adjusting pots (little blue boxes with brass adjusting screws on the top - VR101a, 101b)...the originals were single turn pots and very hard to adjust. The new ones are multi turn, and much higher precision. Driver and output transistors were not changed.....they appear to be original, and that is good because it means there probably were no damage incidents. Most likely the big square white resistors (R133, 136, 142, 143) next to the output resistors have never been changed either because they usually only get damaged at the same time as the output resistors The M-02 which was export only utilized a 450va R core transformer-- which is an upgrade and unusual to see used in those years.
