Rarely seen on the used market, this Auris Headonia 2A3 is a beauty of a headphone amp (as a piece of eye candy it dwarfs my integrated amp). The 2A3s are Shuguang 2A3-Z Treasure Tubes and the 12AT7s are old stock RCA. I can provide a pair of ElectroHarmonix 2A3s as a backup set. I should also have the little “gate” that guards the tubes, but I think the amp looks better without it. Check out the reviews at

It goes without saying, the better the source material the better the sound. I use this amp for digital and there is a noticeable improvement with higher res files (e.g., MQA). A good recording easily blows away any other headphone amp that I’ve had. It also rivals the experience of my favored, non-headphone system.
Changes in tubes and cables do affect the sound. I much prefer the Treasures to the EHs.
The balanced headphone jack sounds better than the ¼” and you can run both at the same time.
With my Mr Speakers Alpha Dogs, I do hear a faint hum when putting them on. It may be the tubes or transformers warming up but I really can’t tell. The previous owner purchased it with a blown cathode capacitor (I think that was the term). In getting it fixed the tool to set the small bolts by the 12AT7 tubes wasn’t available so they were put in upside down (hence the reason why they are sticking up). There are also some dark smudges on the middle transformer which you can see in the pics. I haven’t had any issues with it in the ~2 years that I’ve owned it. I have the original packaging (tubes to ship separately). PayPal add 3%.
