These are my last Don Allen power amps. They were built on the chassis of some 1940's theater amps that originally held 6 2A3 tubes running in Parallel Push/Pull. I wanted something like the WECO 1086 amp, so this is what we came up with.Has the original Kenyon power supply transformer (a monster) and two Kenyon reactors (chokes). Hammond output transformer and a Triad filament tranny. Tube rectification using a pair of parallel 5R4WGB's. Driver is a 6C6 (but can also use the WECO 328A which really sounds sweet). Phase split by a 6J5 and then finally the output tubes are 2A3. These are my favorite amps, that's why they are being sold last. I just serviced them replacing all of the power supply electrolytics (I marked with a sharpie which caps were replaced, the dates and the values). NOTE - the grey stereo amp shown in one of the photos is already sold. They are dusty from years of service and storage. All the backlights work (for the lightning bolts - Don's unofficial logo). These amps are very heavy - just about 80lbs each. 25" wide, 10" tall and about 10" deep. I cannot see being able to ship these - too much to go wrong. Local pickup in Fredericksburg, VA (about 45 miles South of Washington, DC). Included are 1 quad of platinum matched Sovtec 2A3's, 1 quad 5R4WGB's, 1 pair 6C6 tubes (NOS vintage) nad 1 pair of 6J5's.
