EAR 890 amplifier. I purchased this 890 from the original owner about 1 1/2 years ago. I had Mitch Singerman install a higher quality, more robust fuse holder, replacing the flimsy original, which had cracked. He also checked for, and assured me that my amp was manufactured before EAR switched to using lower value (8 of them) internal capacitors. No upgrading of caps will be required with this amp. I've included a pic of the lower, right rear corner of the amp, where a bumping incident occurred. Had the original owner not pointed it out to me, I probably never would have noticed it. It's purely cosmetic at this point, and no one looks at the back of the amp anyway. As you can see, I use KT90 tubes with this amp, but 6550's work as well. I prefer the more robust slam of the KT90's. -Used 890's rarely come up for sale, and not at this price point, as far as I've seen. Unfortunately, current financial obligations necessitate sale. --I would prefer local sale if possible, but will double box ship if needed. --As always, thanks for checking in.
