Here we have a pair of near pristine condition Mcintosh 60 mono amplifiers! The holy grail of Mcintosh amps and considered by many as the best sounding Mac amps ever made!! We are amazed with the condition, They are by far the cleanest ones we have seen in 40+ years! The owner gave us along with these Gem's rhodium speaker connectors and custom made bases which are now on the amp. These beauties have been completely serviced and all factory recommended upgrades were installed. Included in the restoration are: New Golden Lion KT-88 Power Tubes, along with new Telefunken 12AU7,JJ 12AX7's and EH12BH7 tubes with less than 50 hours on them! Replaced also are (higher quality) electrolytic capacitors throughout. New 1% Mil-spec. Mills (Non Inductive), Takman, and PRP film resistors in key areas. Inferior sounding mylar caps were upgraded with period correct polypropelene and PIO film caps. The power cords were also replaced with OFC units. The potentiometers was cleaned and lubricated. Lastly the factory recommended upgrades were performed including the replacing of the selenium diode with a silicone rectifier. Other than some microscopic pitting and some peeling on the chrome these beauties are in mint condition! (see photo's). There is a reason why these amplifiers are considered within the top 5 collectible audio components of all time, they sound great, they look great and when professionally serviced as this one is, will last another 50 years or more and continue to beat the stock market as an investment.
