If you already know this suite of equipment, then your first thoughts will likely be condition, updates, what accessories are included and shipping:CONDITION: I don’t believe you will not find a complete 30.5/31.5 package in better condition than these 3 units. I’ve done my best to show this in the pictures and have rated them a 9, reflecting how well they have been cared for all their life. No smoke, pets or children. Please note that the “distortions” in the displays are actually reflections; the displays themselves are perfect. UPGRADES: All 3 components have been re-capped at Levinson’s authorized facility in Austin, TX. This alone may distinguish these particular units from many others out there for sale. No other changes to the hardware or other mods have been made. ACCESSORIES: All 3 units will be shipped in the original boxes. The remote works perfectly. And, yes, both manuals are included and in excellent condition. Along with the units, the power cords and PLS 330 to 30.5 power supply cables (3 of them) are naturally included. SHIPPING: These units will be shipped in their original transport/shipping boxes. The cost will be determined by the distance shipped and preferred shipping agent selected by the Buyer. For those less familiar with this suite of Mark Levinson Reference components: Levinson 31.5 Reference Transport: The Levinson 31.5 was always the holy grail of transports. Never had a transport been built to the extreme level of this unit, nor have many ever come close since. Unlike the drawers in other units, the military-grade transport mechanism solidly clamps the disc to the platter, just like your turntable. Couple this transport to any DAC and you’ll see why this mechanism and control software are simply tops; back then and still today. Levinson 30.5 Reference DAC: The ML 30.5 DAC uses a massive outboard power supply (PLS 330) and is capable of playing up to 48 kHz/24 bit files. In comparisons with the finest DACs of today, this unit will go toe-to-toe with most any of them on red book files and CDs, thanks to the ingenious clocking mechanism and glorious analog output stage. Levinson understood the critical nature of jitter and was the leader that all others ultimately followed. Whether you still spin discs (I suspect many of you reading this have massive collections), want to play back computer files, decode your streamer/server’s output or couple this to a combo stereo/theater, there is not likely anything offered to compete with this combination in this price range; true reference level performance.
