Selling a DIY Twisted Pear Audio (TPA) Buffalo II "plus" DAC/pre/headphone amp. It's one stunning build, featuring a backlit laser etched acrylic sub panel which lights up Blue, a thick brushed aluminum faceplate, and custom etched labeling in back. And the sound is even better than the looks! This DAC uses the Sabre ES9018 DAC, and this build has the TPA Volumite, making it a digital pre-amp as well as a DAC. Digital inputs include Toslink, RCA, BNC, and AES/EBU. Outputs are RCA single-ended, and XLR balanced. It ALSO includes a Mini-3 amp built in, maxxing out the functionality scale. So this DAC/Pre/Amp could double as a pretty sweet desktop all in one as well, just add a USB/SPDIF converter if your machine doesn't have SPDIF out, and use it with headphones or powered speakers. A few points about inputs based on my testing: * The BNC COAX input can handle 24/192 (didn't test the AES/EBU and RCA coax, but they should handle 24/192 as well) * Optical handles 24/96 * There is no USB, so even though the chip can handle DSD, right now the DAC does not The Buffalo DAC's - I've owned two in the past - could sound bright at times. This unit has all the stunning details but I was never turning away with ears bleeding, nor ever even fatigued. Truly is an awesome DAC, especially when fed hi-res via my Pioneer N-30 or with laptop and Hi-Face II. Footprint is about 13.5" W x 12" D x 4" H. Small enough to fit on many a desktop....
Selling because I am looking to buy a new laptop, older one is dying. My price is $725 including shipping in US, and no PayPal fees either. Prefer US only for now. Thanks, Todd - necroscope
