It is an excellent EL84 amp with full, rich and detailed bass and low mids; and very good detail retrieval in the mids and highs. Very good presence in the room.
True Line Magnetic build and sound quality!I had excellent results when I paired this with:
Backert Labs Rhumba 1.3 active preamp with 12 dB of gain.
early Tekton Design Impact 96 dB efficient 8 ohm Floorstanders.
With the gain from the preamp, I never exceeded 12 noon on the volume dial. It does have excellent EI transformers but you will need efficient speakers to drive it I really want to keep this amp but I have 4 amps and at least one has to go.
