The unit was working when we put in storage a few years ago. However, when it was put into operation again, a small capacitor on the standby part of the board burned. A local tech friend had a look, and determined the following: The (normally orange-colored, now blackened) tall round pill shaped capacitor failed. ({Please see last photo; can email more photos, AA will not let me upload more pics) He suspects the capacitor failed due to drying out due to age When the unit was turned on, it failed, taking out the diode next to it (that is what turns the unit On from standby mode). If you have tech skills or a skilled tech in your area, one should be able to replace these very low cost parts easily. Unfortunately, we no longer have any audio repair shops on island. So selling AS IS.

The Audio Physic Phono Demagnetizer is equally effective for both MM & MC cartridges. VERY rarely seen on the used market. It was made in the heyday of Audio Physics in the early '90s.
