One of the best solid state phono stages ever made--its sibling, the Non-Signature, was modded and became the Walker Phono Stage, retailing for +$10, 000. The DM stands for Dual Mono power supply. Neutral and truly accurate. In perfect working order.
The original owner, not me soldered in resistors to yield 60 db gain and a 100ohm load, perfect for most moving coil cartridges, but the unit comes with an array of Vishay nude resistors for you to choose the load and gain you want, from 40-66db.
From the Stereophile review of the original (and cheaper) AHT P:

It also has an extraordinarily low noise floor." From the Soundstage review of the AHT Non-Signature (I am not sure of how the Non-Signature and DM differ, although it appears that the DM followed the Non-Signature)--"There are many fine phono sections that excel in certain parameters, usually to the neglect of others. In my experience with other high-end products, I’ve encountered no singular piece that combines the myriad aspects of a musical performance to the degree the Non-Signature exhibited. Frankly, it would be difficult for me to fathom the idea that any unit could improve significantly on what designer Dan Fanny has accomplished here." I recently acquired this while waiting for my custom tube phono amp t be repaired--I now have one too many phono preamps, hence the sale.
