Hello. I built this vacuum tube phono preamp because I was disappointed with all of the sub $2000 op-amp based phono preamps I’ve tried lately. They all sound the same. Just blah. No real definition or imaging. Rolled off highs and lows. Just boring. I upgraded the output coupling capacitors to the excellent Audyn Cap Plus models. I am blown away on how good it sounds! Now there is imaging, high frequency definition, bass depth and control and that midrange warmth I have been yearning for. I have not listened to any digital music in weeks. This is a dual mono design from the transformer, forward. I'll include a new, low noise matched trio of the JJ Gold Pin 12AX7s that sound the best to my ears in this circuit. They cost me around $90. I’ll also include an IEC power cord. It is modeled after the famous EAR 834 with 48db of gain. Works with MM or High Output MC cartridges. Standard 47k Ohm loading. Its dimensions are 14” wide, 12” deep and 5” tall. *Do not operate with the cover off. Lethal voltages are present and can be very dangerous! My asking price includes the preamp, JJ Gold Pin tubes, power cord and FedEx Ground or Home shipping within the Continental USA. Let me know if you have any questions. Ed
