Hello. This is an excellent piece from Krell. It has all the classic Krell sound. It digs deep into the music and throws a huge soundstage. It also has that Krell bass control and attack that many other preamps just don’t have. The phono stage occupies about 40% of the chassis and sounds wonderful. You could not buy a phono stage for less than $3000 that sounds better in my opinion. All of the electrolytic capacitors have been changed with Nichicon FG Audio grade caps. The outboard power supply unit is a later model that has two stages of regulation. This means it is very quiet and stable. The power supply caps have also been changed with Nichicon ‘Gold Tune’ (larger two) and Nichicon ultra-low ESR / High temperature ones for the other 8 caps. This unit will be ready for another 30+ years of trouble-free use. The overall condition is excellent. See photos. It is very clean inside and out. The previous owner lost a few of the silver screws on the preamp so I changed the top screws out for black Phillips screws. The side screws are original. I have the original box and packing, too.
