SONY TA-E90es Stereo Preamplifier.Sony knocked this one out of the part. It's certainly one of , if not their best pre-amp ( outside of some costly JAPAN only model).
It will output via RCA or XLR
It's a minimalist design ( no tone controls)
It is remote operable but I don't have a factory remote and the motor for the potentiometer is not 100% ( needs lubrication or other servicing) I manually adjusted volume at the unit , but my Harmony remote ( not included) did in fact operate the unit. again , the motor for the volume pot is "sticking" and would need to be addressed if you plan on using it via your Harmony or other remote. The Sony was paired with it's partner amp ( SOLD already) the TA-N90es but I've also used it with my McIntosh MC500 and most recently with a set of Manley Classic 300B mono amps.
In all of the systems I've used this unit in, it has performed well above it's class.
I've only seen a couple come up for sale over the past decade or so. I'm paring down my collection of gear and will be selling off the entire ES system which too me a few years to put together ( the units are not terribly common on the used market ).
