They have been great speakers for me and have been kept in superb condition in a smoke free, pet free home and I am the original owner. I rated the condition as 8/10 and not 9/10 because on the edge of one of the black boxes there is a very slight bruise to the paint that is noticeable close up, however, not when standing. I will provide a couple of excerpts. "Compared to the original Avant Gardes, this is a totally new speaker. The drivers are the same models but with modifications. The Gershman Acoustics Grande Avant Gardes are constructed of HDF, which is very solid and both feels and sounds very quiet. I should add that the HDF is then beautifully painted and then finished in several coats of fine Italian lacquer. (The Gershmans have worked with the same master painter to finish the cabinets for years and he does all the finishing on their products). __I have never had the black felt face cloth seen on some Gershmans. I have the original spike footers that screw into the black bottom box and the original jumpers for the binding posts and the original grills and the factory boxes for the speakers (black bottoms packaged in generic boxes). The grills are surprisingly transparent, but, I always listened with them off and expect most will. Will ship in 3 boxes. Each speaker in an individual very well padded factory box and the bases which come together in the third box I will double box.
