Klipsch Heresy 1.5:When I purchased these speakers the cabinets were less than perfect and had some chips. I refinished the cabinets by sanding them down, stained them ebony and hand rubbed them with paste wax. The look very, very nice. However, if you look really, really close you will see where the chips were sanded. Unless you sand through the veneer and then re-veneer there is no way to avoid this. In spite of this they look classy. I replaced all crossover caps with Sonicraft caps and rewired them with silver/teflon wire. I also replaced the tweeter diaphragms with Crites, which greatly improved the high end resolution. The inside of the cabinets have been damped, as well as, acoustic fiber applied. This gives the speaker better low end response, something Heresy's need. The binding post were replaced with better quality posts and a small amount of acoustic foam was applied to the throat of the mid horn to tame it a bit, making it a much more balanced sounding speaker. These will also come with welded, steel stands that are 12" in height and tilt upwards. With the mods, these are arguably the best sounding Heresy's one can own. So, here is the deal........I don't want to mail these, for all the obvious reasons. I live in Ithaca, NY, where they can be auditioned and purchased. If interested throw me a PM or call me at 607 351-8218 and let's talk. Thanks! Ray
