I have a pair of classic Mission Argonaut 780, Mark II, loud speakers include manual and spikes,good/fair condition one speaker is producing some static. Additional photos available, $100 firm. The boxes have long gone. Local pickup or delivery within 30 miles only.Below are details and specifications on the speakers:
Size (H,W,D) 95 cm (37 in) x 26 cm (10 in) x 32 cm (13 in)
Weight 22 kg (49 lb)
Frequency response (±3 dB) 30 Hz - 20 kHz
Low frequency roll-off (-6 dB) 19 Hz
Sensitivity 95 dB (1W/1M) The Mark II Argonaut is the most highly developed version. Based extensively on the successful Mk V Mission Freedom Loudspeaker the design aim was to further improve low frequency bandwidth and overall sensitivity [1].. This was achieved by raising the cabinet volume, converting it to a sealed enclosure and fitting a second 215mm homopolymer woofer. This second drive unit merely augmented the bass, leaving the remaining woofer/tweeter combination to operate as per the 770 Freedom (with the crossover maintained at 1.9kHz). Thus, "the neutral and musical character and fine imaging of the Freedoms [is retained] but with substantially added zest and power" The cabinet is constructed from sandwiched non-resonant particle board with a time-aligned MDF baffle (as per the 770 Freedom). The drive unit compliment is also as per the Mission Freedom Loudspeaker. With an exceptionally high sensitivity of 95dB 1w @ 1m, and very high power handing (nominal 200w but as per the Freedoms considerably more in practice) they were capable of high sound levels
