This is a pair of like-new Monitor Audio GX 300's in beautiful hand rubbed bubinga finish. I made the mistake of listening to, becoming enthralled with and purchasing these (for a Christmas present) before I did my taxes....and now the government pig is at the feeding trough and it's hungry! Then to make matters worse I find out that my son is defaulted on his student loan and guess who co-signed his loans and is now on the hook.I haven't sold on this thread before but you can check my 100% Ebay rating (wmorrison) At any rate, you will not find a nick, scratch or blemish anywhere on these. Even my wife who could care less about audio equipment said "Those speakers are beautiful...they look like dining room furniture!". I have all of the original packing material. If you have ever heard these speakers or the smaller GX200's you know the have an incredible soundstage and texture to instruments especially guitars, violins, cello's, voice etc. And you don't have to get them 3 feet in the room to do it.
A word of advice though is that you can't try and feed them with cheap amplification.
During our short but wonderful relationship I tried them with a Emotiva 200wpc, a B&K reference 200wpc and Old Bryston 2BSST and they all sounded good. However, I ran them off of a Dennon receiver 3808ci and a Yamaha AX3020 and while they didn't sound bad they were definitely not the same.
I tried both QED silver anniversary speaker cables and Nordost Red Dawns. Both sounded good but the Nordost would be my choice if I had to pick one.
