Time and phase coherent, full range, Thiel CS 3.5 speakers with the electronic bass equilizer. The speakers are in perfect sonic condition. The mid drivers were rebuilt by Thiel in 2006 and the EQ box was sent to Thiel for a check/tune up fairly recently. It was right after Gary started working at Thiel if you know when that was. The cabinets show some minor blemishes here and there, but nothing that you can see from about three feet away, and certainly not anything that you can see from the listening position. The grills are in truly mint condition. There are no pulls, holes, discoloration, etc. and the fabric is tight.
The speakers will come with three sets of spikes- The original Thiel spikes, a longer, custom machined "clone" of the Thiel spikes for piercing through thick carpet, and the adjustable cones that are on the speakers now. You will also get a few inches of Thiel silver solder that Thiel sent me with the rebuilt mid drivers.
I have the original boxes and packaging materials for the speakers, but I will not risk shipping them. I may consider delivering them, but I would prefer that the buyer see them in person, enjoy a fine beer or two, and listen to them play some music.
The speakers throw a large, deep soundstage and image with precision. They are very capable speakers that revealed every upstream change that I have made to my system over the years that I have owned them. I recently got a pair of Magnepans just for a change, so the Thiels must go.
