I've been buying little 'LS3/5a' variants for 38 years. Right now I have LS-50's (in my home theater), P3ESR's, these Spendors which I bought new a year ago. I recently bought a pair of Falcon 15 ohm LS3/5a's (no secrets - they are my favorite) so the closet is getting kind of crowded. The Spendors are a real favorite of mine. They are tops in the looks department, I really like the narrower face and the more modern grill cloth. The original S3/5 from about 15 years ago was good, but not as good as an LS3/5a. These new ones are much more competitive with similar models from Harbeth and Stirling. They sound great on Skylan stands in a smallish to medium sized room. Outstanding on anything 'real' - jazz, classical, voice, etc. They don't have to be cranked up to sound good - they remind me of my Quads in that regard. This pair is cherry and perfect.
