Here is one of Sam Tellig’s (Stereophile) perennial favorites. The Titus XS received a Class B rating (unusual for a small bookshelf speaker) from that magazine and has also gotten good reviews elsewhere. They are made by Triangle Electroacoustique, the 3rd largest French speaker manufacturer & have power handling range of 60-120 watts, 4 ohm impedance and 90 dB sensitivity. They have brass (?) connectors that allow bi-wiring, but can be used either way. I have found them quite excellent with critical classical music, especially harpsichords (which
reveal high-frequency defects that most music glosses over). They should be used on stands, and I provide a DIY set gratis (but plus shipping), or you can choose your own. These speakers have been checked & are in excellent mechanical condition; cosmetically there is one corner ding that does not affect performance & can be filled/stained to be virtually invisible.
