Now distributed by Sumko here in the USA, REL is not a household name amongst US music lovers, but those who have had a chance to use them swear by their beautiful and musical performances. This REL Q-150E is one of their compact models – essentially a 12” cube – released just 12 years ago in 2001. Featuring a very fast 10" front firing woofer, this subwoofer does an amazing job of pressurizing small to mid sized rooms. The amplifier is very dynamic and powerful Mosfet integrated amp and combined this subwoofer excels at forming nuanced musical notes as opposed to the standard one note thump of most subwoofers. This is an incredibly fast and sublimely musical subwoofer, one of the very few compact subs that can blend in virtually seamlessly with a huge variety of speakers.
This incredible subwoofer performs flawlessly, and the front firing woofer is like new. As you can see from the photos, both the cone and dust cap are heavily textured, and that is the way that they are manufactured. The rubber surround on the woofer has some normal rubber discolorations caused in the manufacturing process, and are normal, minimal and completely cosmetic. All functions have been tested and work like new. Cosmetically it is exceptional with almost no signs of use. There is a single nick on the top edge in front, almost center that is nicely touched up, and a couple of very minimal edge scrapes on the bottom corner.
