Beautiful and rare Black Marantz 10B tuner. As you can see, the dial glass is perfect, the CRT tube is strong, all the lights work and the Stereo indicator works properly because the opto-couplers are all good. If you Google 10B's opto-couplers, you'll find that bad ones will not hold the stereo indicatorThe unit has been fully checked including the opto couplers and tuning capacitor which uses tuned coils to set the alignment at the factory. This is the reason Marantz did not issue any alignment instructions as it should never need alignment! How many tuners can make that claim? A unmolested 10B is an awesome tuner but make sure you buy one that has not been un-aligned. I've owned this tuner for over 20 years and am the second owner. There have been many stories about black faceplates. Some claim that they were reproductions. I don't think so. Other claims are that the black ones were sold in Europe or that they only went to radio stations. I bought this 10B from the original owner's nephew. He had inherited it from his uncle and put it on Craigslist locally. According to the nephew, his uncle worked at a radio station and obtained the unit from the station. Whatever the truth is, it's an extremely rare 10B that functions perfectly and sounds terrific. If you want more pics, let me know. I've set a low price on the Trader, so move quickly.
