I have an Empire 208 belt drive turntable for sale. It is in pretty good cosmetic shape. There is some wear to the chassis but no dings and nothing major. The wood base is excellent. The tonearm has some wearing of the finish and the headshell is also worn pretty good. The tonearm is missing the counterweight. The motor turns fine but the belt is stretched. I was going to refurbish the entire unit but I can't get around to it. There are some really nice units seen on the net where folks have sandblasted and refinished the chassis - really outstanding results. I don't know about the tonearm - maybe it should be replaced. Apparently, the turntable has a cult following for it's performance. I read where the platter assembly is near perfect and cannot be milled any better.
This would make an exciting project and not too hard for fabulous results!!
