Reluctantly selling my updated / refurbished Garrard 301 in a veneered heavy Baltic birch plywood plinth. Total weight is about 50 pounds. This table sounds great! Solid bass, quiet background, explosive dynamics!The 301 started out as a well worn grease bearing model. I sent it to Ray Clark at Classic Hi-Fi who did a complete reburbishment on it, including his new milled solid aluminum chassis. See classichif-shop dot co dot uk for more great info. This is serial No. 00012 in that series. Work completed included the new solid chassis in hammertone gray, new motor spings, new rubber spring dampers, polish eddy brake, new split pin, replate all fitting in passivated Zinc, new idler bushes, new idler control spring, new speed select grommets, new brake, new isolation washers, new suppressor, overhaul bearing spindle, reassemble with new rivets, new idler wheel, new and new Garrard box. The plinth started out as a multilayer Baltic birch plinth that I was going to paint, but then decided to veneer. It is covered in flame Anigre veneer on the top and sides. The bottom is veneered in tulipwood. The plinth has walnut banding and figured wood side blocks. It has removable armboards that will work with 10 to 12 inch arms and a few 9 inch arms. The arms mount with four machine screws. There are 2 flush mount Wenge boards, one slightly taller walnut board if you need some height shimming, and two even taller maple boards if you need 10-15 mm of height shimming. I have a paper template I will supply if you want to make or have made, some additional boards. The veneer is older, and has cracked in a few places, but the cracks are stabilized and tightly adhered to the substrate. This is not a $1500 plinth, but is esthetically pleasing and will function for a lifetime. I have the table on four threaded SimplyPhysics isolation cones with four aluminum cone cups. The table has ΒΌ - 20 threaded inserts for other isolation devices. The SimplyPhysics have nylon bolts, so they are not meant to be used for leveling. If you need to use the feet for table leveling, then I will supply some basic metal spikes that can be used instead. The table comes with a captive 3-prong power cable. It has mounted a 60hz pulley and operates perfectly on 60z 120v US power. I will include the original 50hz pulley and old parts as available. Will ship in 2 boxes, one for the plinth, at about 50 shipping pounds, and one for the table, in the new Garrard box, double boxed for safer travel. Sold AS IS, but functions great!
