My experience with these cables is that they are extraordinarily natural. I compared to many different brands. The Serenity cables were the most balanced across the board. Others may have bested the Argentos in on category, but the Serenity's succeeded on more parameters more consistently. The soundstage is wonderful and large and deep. The midrange and natural quality of the overall sound has a more musical quality than many cables, a truly wonderful product.From the Argento Brochure about the Serenity line:

All the cables in the Serenity line, from the Serenity to the Serenity Master Reference use the same basic parts. For a description of these parts please read the text below. 1. The conductor
Argento have always used round conductors for our cables but for the Serenity we decided to start over and try different types of conductors. In the process we discovered that the best sound seemed to be produced by conductor featuring a certain ratio between cross section and circumference. The result of our efforts was a conductor with the following characteristics:
• Material: 99.997% pure Silver.
• Condition: long duration low temperature annealing followed by long duration 2-stage cryo treatment (cooled to -193C by gas and then emerged into liquid nitrogen).
• Shape: near super elliptic with optimized surface to cross section ratio and no edges.
• Surface: polished (the duration of the polishing is determined by the level of Serenity cable) 2. The electrical insulation and mechanical damping.
While it is generally admitted that vibrations have an ill effect on audio cables performance, this is indeed one of the most dramatically underestimated aspect in cable design, a fact not too surprising after all, considering the amount of dedicated knowledge and research involved in developing a material able to effectively eliminate vibrations at the conductor level.
During the process through rigorous testing, we came rapidly to the conclusion that none of the usual “solutions” (plastic, composite materials, etc.) was a correct answer to the problem, either because simply in operant or by creating other issues when removing the problems caused by the vibrations. Starting from scratch, the VDM®
-short for “Vibration Damping Material”- is the result of our long, creative and careful search for an original alternative, which lead us to create our own blend of different materials with outstanding complementary physical properties: elastic at typical room temperature, completely electrically stable and very heavy. Finding an efficient way to apply the VDM® proved as difficult a task as inventing the material, since we wanted to make absolutely sure that every last molecule of air was removed from the cable to maximize the damping effect. The increased performance of the Serenity cables lead us to develop our VDM® compound even further to achieve the best in damping and temperature interval at which the VDM® works optimally. As a result of our efforts, Argento is proud to offer VDM® in every each Serenity cables, making available to you the true epitome of perfect electrical insulation and mechanical damping. 3. The use of shielding
Argento cables are all made without the use of shielding. The reason for this is very simple. It sounds better and we have experienced next to no problems. The only problems we have experienced have occurred when using the cables in an environment with heavy electrical interference and low output MC pickups. 4. Connectors
The Serenity cables use Eichmann Silver bullet plugs, Bocchino pure copper XLR connectors and Argento pure silver spades which have all be cryo treated to -190 degrees Celsius to maintain the optimal transmission of the signal through out the cable.
