FOR SALE: one used and VERY RARE Victor TT-801 turntable in a massive custom lacquered (Japanese urushi) cherry-wood dual-arm plinth. The Victor TT-801 is the very rare, top-of-the-line, never-exported flagship of Victor's turntable glory days. It is the most powerful of Victor's motors and it is very quiet and very speed stable. This was originally sold without the vacuum unit attached. It can be fitted with a TS-1 turbo vacuum unit and the special mat which goes with it. It could also be fitted with an aftermarket vacuum system if you want. The motor is one of the great motors made - a coreless dual-servo motor and the rumble level is truly VERY low when measured in the CLP-10 plinth. When in this plinth, it should be even lower. The motor has pitch control in 0.1% increments to +/- 9.9%. It is in excellent working and cosmetic condition. Operating voltage is Japanese at 100V. It can be run either at 50Hz or 60Hz. Use in most countries would require a stepdown transformer. The arm mounting distances can be set at between 219mm and about 225mm allowing use of a number of 9" arms. The construction allows for easy addition of other armboards than what is here. They would be very easy to get made by any machinist or on FrontPanelExpress, emachineshop or similar. It weighs about 10kg by itself and the plinth weighs another 15-17kg I think. I will check and amend the ad within 24hrs. Shipping worldwide is possible. It will weigh about 30kg when appropriately padded and double-boxed. Payment possible by Paypal (+4%), wire transfer, international postal money order (+1%) and personal check (please assume 2+wks to clear). This can be sold without plinth if necessary, or with an original Victor plinth.
