EQUI-TECH 2Q Balanced Power Conditioner - USED - $1,250 PLUS Shipping.The Equi-Tech Q series balanced power line conditioners use high-quality balanced power transformers (if I recall correctly the transformers in the Q series of this time are high quality units made by Plitron on Canada to Equi-Techs specs) to reject/minimize noise from the power line. The 2Q model is a massive (heavy) 20A rated design which was made for handling power amplifiers, sub-woofers or other large current hungry HiFi and video gear. This used unit is about 12 or so years old (best guess) and is in fair condition (if you are looking for pretty cosmetics, look elsewhere - from several feet away sitting in a rack it looks good - see pics for details). Front voltage display meter works only output disply reading/setting and all outlets are functional (though in my opinion the grey "filtered" outlets which use a poor quality additional generic filter after the balanced transformer and don't sound as good as the white outlets which do not use that, but feel free to experiment and see what you like yourself). These retailed new for around $2,700 and similar new units cost more than that these days or you can buy the no faceplate rack mount pro version on Ebay for $2,800 (Other cheaper balanced power conditioners may be cheaper if they are using cheap poor quality [generally Chinese made] transformers - the quality of the design and matching of the transformer does play a roll in how much and well it rejects/eliminated noise) .
