Delphi Imager speaker pair. --Rarely, if ever, does a pair of Delphi Imagers come up for sale. This was the last pair made in genuine Walnut veneer. I had become friends with the late Imagers designer, Marco Karpodines. I bought this pair from him new in 1995, and had him upgrade to superior Hovland capacitors about a year later. If you have a larger room, the 3D soundstage of these speakers, with the umbilicals connected, can/will blow listeners away. I have never heard anything to equal hearing the Imagers playing at Marco's large showroom in Beverly Hills in the mid 90's. The cheapo 2 prong connectors used to connect the umbilicals were replaced with banana connectors (see pic) with Marco's approval, in the late 90's when the original connectors began having intermittent contact problems. The original connectors were the only weakness of the design. I also have the grills, though I don't use them. As time passed, I took the original (low to the floor) stands off, and set up on 20 inch stands (see pics) which removed coloration resulting from negative driver/floor close coupling.
I will only include the original stands with sale. Two of my pics show photocopied ads I put together from the 90's through 2003, when Marco demoed the Imagers at CES/The Show in Las Vegas. I helped him with the demo. All the ad descriptions are really accurate. --Local, cash sale only, as I have no boxes. --As always, thanks for checking in.
