You'll be very hard-pressed to find a DAC that sounds anywhere even in the vicinity of this good for $300.00, in fact you'd be equally hard-pressed to find one at $798.00. Stellar sound DAC. It's playing right now, for inspiration as I type this, through a custom Odyssey power amp and a one-off, custom Aric Audio pre and a Cambridge Audio CXC and into a pair of Totem Hawk's. Playing L'Histoire du Soldat (Reference Recordings RR-17CD) is like sitting in the theatre while it's being played live, right in front of you. Not a smidgen of anything is missing - the full punch, but with precise definition is all there. Selling because I need to switch over to a DAC with USB capabilities, which is likely to be the CIAudio Transient MKII w/VAC-5MKII power supply. See link for details on the VDA-2/VAC-1 combination.
