PRICE REDUCED. Here I'm offering the second Bugle + Power Supply that I've built, for a very low price, because I love building these things and want to build one more. Jim Hagerman charges $149 for an assembled Preamp section, no power supply, no parts upgrades, and, very importantly, no chassis. I'm now asking only $51 more than that for the Power Supply and Preamp section both, in a nice chassis in the Bottlehead style, with all connections (RCA jacks, IEC power entry, fuse holder, illuminated power switch). A real bargain, I'd say. Especially in light of my major parts upgrades: Russian Teflon .22 uF output caps (for good sound), Solen .22 uF caps (for close tolerance for equalization), TX2352 Vishay .47K5 input load resistors, and Blackgate caps in the Power Supply. Other minor upgrades as well: Vishay-Roderstein caps, many PRP and Holco resistors.I've roughly added up what the parts, including the Hagerman half-kits, cost me. Including shipping from pxC, Digi-Key, Texas Components and Russia, it's within $10 of my former asking price of $225. With my recent price reduction, I'm now selling for well below the parts cost. If you prefer a chassis with all connectors on a back panel, I'll build one like that for an additional $20. It would have poplar sides with masonite for the back panel and some decent-looking top, to be arranged. The pictures I attach will show the present Bottlehead-style chassis. Feel free to ask questions. This phono preamp has been my discovery of a long audiophile lifetime, and could be yours as well. Paypal adds 3.5%.
