This is a cool looking, cute (almost 4 inches square), enjoyable sounding, phono only, stereo preamp, ready for two turntables or tonearms. You use this with moving magnet or high output moving coil cartridges. The output jacks connect to your Aux In or Line In, on your preamp or amp. Only the short output cables are included. You might want to replace these cables but these work fine. Originally from Japan, this unit has been improved and refined, as you can see in the under chassis pic. Two vintage Polytronics (by RCA), strong and matched 12AX7A tubes, with the short plates that RCA produced to resemble the short plate Mullard and Amperex ECC83s, are included; which sound very nice. Active feedback RIAA EQ has been refined significantly, with choice, matched parts. Vintage Sprague coupling caps are installed. The four input jacks were replaced. The power supply has been beefed up with augmented capacitance, yielding strong dynamic bass impact with relaxed mids and detailed highs. The sound is very sweet yet detailed. This preamp can switch between two tonearm setups. Cosmetically, while attractive, there are some scratches and many oxidation freckles, noticeable when looking closely. I'll rate cosmetics at Fair to Good, but many will consider this VG-. The sound is very detailed and pleasant, in my systems. If using paypal, not preferred by me, paypal fee to be paid by buyer.
