Moore Franklin Associates Luminescence
I have decided to sell my Lumi that I have owned since 1987 due to lack of recent use. The lumi is known as having one of the better phono sections commercially produced, along with an excellent line stage. It is a tube rollers dream utilizing all octal based tubes and offers several paths for further upgrades. This is a Model A-2 with some A-3 factory upgrades. In 2004, I had all of the electrolytic caps replaced with Panasonics and installed the Russian K-40Y caps in the coupling positions and K75 caps in the output sections. I also had IXYS bridge rectifiers from Percy installed in the power supply along with changing the original B+ diodes to UF4007s. I have the original output SiderealKaps if one desires to restore to the original output values. Included are all RCA 5691 tubes (branded National) and various brands of all others. This is a dual mono design and there is a slight difference in the two volume pot settings. This may only be due to output differences in the tubes. There was toggle switch replaced in the tape loop that differs from the originals. Scott Frankland, I believe still offers upgrades and service for these units and could probably supply the original part if required. The unit still makes beautiful reproduced music and should offer many years of enjoyment. Original owners manual included with extra set (4ea. 5691s).
