One pair of highly upgraded Bottlehead Paramount 300B single-ended triode amplifiers. They were originally built by an electrical engineer. Shortly after I acquired them, I had a professional electronics tech install the v1.1 Soft Start upgrade kit. As should be expected, the build, wiring and soldering are exceptional.EACH amp comes with all of the following upgraded parts and tubes: - Magnequest FULL NICKEL BH-5 output transformers and BH-7 plate chokes ($650 for the set of 4)
- Two VCAP TFTF and one Mundorf Silver/Oil Parafeed capacitor.
- JJ 300Bs output tubes.
- Tung-Sol Round Plate 6SN7 with high quality tube socket adapter.
- Western Electric 396A with Herbies Halo tube damper.
- Hi-Fi Tuning Supreme fuse.
- Blumenstein natural finish Bamboo base.
- Upgraded WBT speaker binding posts.
- Upgraded Mills resistor and Elna Cerafine capacitor. Each of these upgrades is an improvement but combined brings these amps to another level. Overall, I rate the cosmetic condition an 8. The top-plates are a 7 and everything else is a 9. Electronically, they work perfectly. Included in the sale are the original Bottlehead manuals, DVDs and receipts for many of the upgraded items. The amps will be expertly packed, including double boxing at no extra charge. When calculating shipping costs multiple by 2 because there will be two boxes, one for each amp. No extra charge for PayPal. Thanks! NOTE: The original Paramount used a 12AT7 input/driver tube. The v1.1 upgrade changed that to a 5670/WE396A. Using an adapter, you can also use a 6SN7 which sounds the best to me.
