Nice pair of classic Heathkit UA 1 mono block tube amplifiers in very good condition. Rated 8/10 due to age.
These use a pair of 6BQ5 output tubes per channel driven by a 6AN8, with 6CA4/ EZ 81 rectifiers. The amps work fine and sound great; however, I would recommend converting them to UA2 by changing the cathode bias resistor (mod is easy and information is available on line). Fuses should be added as well to protect the output iron, which is excellent. Tubes are old stock and have not been tested; naturally, they will work best with tested and matched pairs.Amps put out about 12 wpc and sound sweet, natural and full bodied. They are amazing with original Quads, horns and other high efficiency speakers. Given their age, there is no warranty on these. Buyer to pay actual shipping and insurance from Portland, OR 97225.
