Pet and smoke free environment. It is in pristine condition. I doubt that you could tell it from a new unit. Has been used primarily as a network player so that the transport has not had much use. It is built like a tank. See the Stereophile review and Boulderamp website for all the technical data. I have owned and or listened to many of the very top players and dacs. This unit crushes them. It not only plays cd's but can be linked to a NAS via an ethernet connection to a wireless router. This allows you to select and play music from an Iphone, Ipad, etc. Because it uses an ethernet connection, data is moved in digital packets which is far superior to a usb connection. Data is also buffered which then makes this one of the very few players which are able to read until right as when ripping cd's to a hard drive which helps eliminate jitter. Variable output allows you to run it directly into your amplifier thus eliminating the need for a preamp. Unit comes with remote, owners manual, and original shipping box. Reason for selling is financial.

Technically, the 1021 is like no other CD player:
It offers Internet connection for accessing and displaying a CD’s metadata, has the ability to play high-resolution files in WAV format directly from a disc, and features a one-minute data buffer to reduce jitter.
Variable output allows the 1021 to drive a power amplifier directly.
It can be connected to a local network and use an Ethernet connection to decode digital audio from a music server.
The user can both play regular CDs or DVDs with high-res material up to 192kHz/32-bit, and play music files at the same resolutions from a computer or external hard drive.
